Ceramic to Metal Brazing Services

With over 100 years of combined brazing and alloy development, MTC Wesgo Metals is the experienced source for highly differentiated engineered solutions to meet your brazed assembly needs.

As a vertically integrated manufacturer of braze alloy, ceramics and machined components, we are able to provide world class turnkey solutions to satisfy your most stringent requirements in metal and ceramic brazing.

Active Braze Alloy ProductsOur in-house turnkey assembly and braze capabilities are ideal for high reliability applications such as feedthrus, heat exchangers, vacuum interrupters, laser assemblies, electrosurgical tools, and waveguides.  These products are typically used within the aerospace, medical, nuclear, communications and energy markets. In addition to conventional metallized ceramic assemblies, we are able to provide highly differentiated Active Braze solutions. This process allows direct bonding of non-metal materials which typically require a metallization layer aiding alloy wetting before ceramic brazing can take place.

Active Brazing by MTC Wesgo Metals provides unique solutions for;

  • Brazing to low density materials
  • Highly corrosive environments
  • Complex joint configurations where metalizing can be cost prohibitive or too challenging to be of consistent high quality
  • Bio-compatible applications
  • High temperature applications up to 1200°C
  • Assemblies with high coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE)
  • Titanium, Zirconia, Macor, SiC and other non-metal materials

MTC Wesgo Metals Active Brazing allows robust joining in a single heat cycle saving time, energy, and decreasing fallout in production.

ABA Braze Parts

With our wide experience of combined brazing and alloy development, we have expanded our Active Braze Alloys’ unique features to solve other challenges, such as adding robust thick metallization pads and traces for electrical circuits. The electrical traces can withstand corrosive environments better than traditional inks, while the high-wear contact pads are many times thicker and better wearing than traditional thick film metallization.

Ceramic to Metal Joining Capabilities

Exploded Cauterizer DiagramJoining components is simple in theory, but challenging in practice, as it requires significant engineering resources and capital investment.  Our knowledge of in-house production of Braze Alloys and their formulations, along with our ceramic expertise provided by our sister company, MTC Wesgo Ceramics, means we have the resources to provide you with a brazed ceramic assembly to meet your required specifications.  We are ISO 9001:2008 accredited and also operate under ISO 14001:2004 standards.

We work closely with our customers using their own designs and helping them with input for manufacturablity. Our experienced engineers will also assist with correct alloy selection and design options for complex joint configurations.

Our extensive facilities encompass vacuum brazing, atmosphere brazing (Hydrogen, Nitrogen, Argon), chemical etching and Helium leak detection. We also offer joint metallurgical analysis reports and cleanroom assembly which includes inspection, brazing and packaging.
